UNews Digital, LLC was founded in 2014, in Houston, Texas by two veteran broadcast journalists, Leigh Frillici and Keith Connors. It was born of their frustration trying to access news video on their mobile devices. UNews Digital is a client of The Houston Technology Center, one of America’s most respected business incubators. Leigh and Keith are committed to using their extensive experience to successfully position broadcasters and media companies for the mobile and broadband revolution.
Leigh Frillici is the CEO and Founder of UNews. She is an award-winning and Emmy-nominated Reporter/Anchor. Leigh reported and anchored for KHOU in Houston. During her time there, she was part of the team that won an Edward R. Murrow for Overall Excellence in 2010. She was the main Anchor at WGGB in Massachusetts. She has also reported for WTNH and WFSB in Connecticut. Leigh kicked off her career working behind the scenes at CBS in NYC and MSNBC. Leigh’s experience spans 20 years in the Broadcast Business.
Keith Connors is also a Co Founder of UNews. He has 20+ years experience as a News Director in highly competitive markets like Houston, New Haven, Charlotte and Indianapolis. He is the News Director of the ABC Affiliate WTNH. Keith has an outstanding track record of improved ratings and revenue of news organizations. Under Keith’s direction his newsrooms have won 3 Peabody awards, 4 duPont-Columbia awards and 7 national Edward R Murrow awards including “Overall Excellence” twice.
Chris Melson is executive chair of UNews. He is also currently the CEO of Promaxima, a leading US based fitness equipment manufacturing with a global presence. Previous, Chris was the founding CEO and President of Netsurion, a leading provider of cloud-managed IT security services that protect small- and medium-sized business’ information and payment systems. Prior to Netsurion, Chris was the Founder and CEO of Augmentix Corporation. Augmentix was funded by Austin Ventures and worked closely with Dell to ruggedize standard Dell servers and laptops primarily for Department of Defense and Telecommunciation applications. Chris is on the Board of Directors of the Houston Technology Center.
